My work is about people overcoming all kinds of obstacles, leaving their homes without anything in their stomachs, resigned. My work is about pollution as well: landscapes filled with garbage, a symbol of accumulation, a metaphor for excess. The balloons are a metaphor for how fragile life is, and the burning house shows us the planet warming up, far away, not in the foreground, because we always think it's a problem that doesn't concern us, that it will hardly reach us.
